We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information in the course of our research and consulting work.

What personal information we collect

We may collect personal information such as your name, contact details, organisation, job title, billing information, survey or interview responses, project-related information, and any other information you choose to provide to us. We only collect information that is necessary for a lawful business purpose connected with our research and consulting services.

How we collect personal information

We usually collect personal information directly from you when you contact us, engage us for a project, complete a survey, take part in an interview or workshop, subscribe to updates, or use our website. In some cases, we may also receive information from clients, panel providers, recruiters, or other third parties where this is lawful and appropriate

Why we collect personal information

We collect and use personal information to provide research and consulting services, manage projects, communicate with clients and participants, issue invoices, analyse findings, improve our services, and meet our legal and professional obligations. We will take reasonable steps to ensure people understand why information is being collected and how it will be used.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help the site function properly, improve your browsing experience, and provide us with information about how the site is used. Cookies are small text files placed in your browser by websites you visit. How we store and protect information

We store personal information in secure digital systems and take reasonable safeguards to protect it against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure. Access is limited to those who need the information for legitimate business purposes. If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will meet our notification obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.

Disclosure of personal information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to trusted contractors, service providers, or research partners who help us deliver our services, where this is necessary and lawful. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law.

Overseas storage or processing

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside New Zealand, including through cloud-based systems. Where this happens, we will take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected in a way that provides comparable safeguards to those in New Zealand, where required by law.

Research data

Where possible, we report research findings in aggregated or de-identified form. If identifiable information is needed for recruitment, incentives, follow-up research, or other project administration, we will make this clear and handle the information with appropriate care.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, and to meet any legal, contractual, or professional obligations. After that, we will securely delete or anonymise it where reasonably practicable.

Access and correction

You have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you and to ask for it to be corrected if you believe it is inaccurate. We will respond to requests in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
